On 17 May 2011, SYR will be hosting an event at the House of Lords to launch its film ‘Life in the UK’ and to present the research paper which it has commissioned on forced marriage.  The event will be chaired by Lord Ahmed.  In addition to the attendance of our many distinguished guests and volunteers, we are particularly honored to have in attendance Lord Husain, Lord Dubs, Dr. Nazia Khanum OBE, and Chaz Akoshile, incoming Joint Head of the government’s Forced Marriage Unit (FMU).  In addition, Lord Sheikh, Rushanara Ali MP, Anas Sarwar MP and H. E / representative of Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Canada are expected to attend.
